UK Blogger Steven Chapman has a monthly feature called "five on the fifth." He says:
"Take 5 photographs on the days leading up to the 5th and publish those on your own blog and then add the link to my blog, State of the Nation UK so that others can see your images.
This month's theme is MOVEMENT. Driving through town, I had difficulty in deciding what to take pictures of with my cheap camera. Our town is criss-crossed by numerous creeks and large rivers. My take on the theme is "moving water."
It hasn't rained in nearly two months; these rapids normally go from bank to bank. |
This little creek is trickling over some of the oldest rocks in the world. |
We're on a major body of water, technically called a "strait", complete with ocean-going ships. |
A light breeze moving the water on this slough behind my house. Pronounced "slew", it is a western Canadian term for pond. |
Hey Buddy, great pics as always. I personlly liked the last one and would love to lather up and clean it. 30 pounds and you still look good. You should see me at 70 pounds gained. LOL Don't beat yourself up on the 30. Think of it as the look of an elder statesman of the movement. Someday you will have to tell me how you do those shots btw.
ReplyDeleteIn addition to the obvious, my second choice is the shot of the creek. Something about the vertical flow of the water over the horizontal composition or the rock faces.
ReplyDeleteNice job.
Nice pictures. And, I second what skier said. You must've been tiny 30lbs ago.
ReplyDeleteI was pretty slim... some might say skeletal... but a perfect shape for marathon running.
DeleteI think your 'cheap' camera does just fine. I'd like to know who took the pic of you in the shower. Who's your shower buddy?
ReplyDeleteAbout your weight... I know a way I could help you lose 1 or 2 ounces of fluid at a time. Of course, I'd be gaining that same amount...
"This is what being +30 pounds overweight looks like" - I CALL BULLSHIT! I think it's sexay allllll over. what I would like to do to those cheeks...(blushes)
ReplyDeleteWow! What a lot of comments in a very short time. Let's face it; I'm an attention seeking blog whore, including the last pic.
ReplyDeleteI use a mini-tripod and self-timer for all my self-pics. I am extremely heavy right now. My "ideal weight" is in the high 160 pound range although I would more realistically be about 175 pounds.
At the end of marathon training, I am usually around 158 pounds.... I feel fantastic at this weight also because I have amazing leg muscles at the same time, but some people think it's too skinny.
Right now? Once I got higher than 190 pounds, I stopped weighing myself, but I'm certainly in the 190 - 200 pound range. Way too heavy for someone who is 5'-10".
I agree with A.M. in Philly, "Sexy alll over" You look delicious to me. I like your photos. Nothing boring about them. ♥ CJ
ReplyDeleteI thought all the photos lovely
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind seeing the front view!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, you don't look anywhere near 190-200 range. But I do know how you feel. I'd like to be about 145 (I'm shorter than you), but right now I'm at 155. And I definitely feel it. I gained about 5 lbs of that over the summer partying and drinking with our stream of house guests.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you attribute your gain to? Stress? Not getting enough exercise because of the back issues? And do you have a plan for losing it?
At any rate, I agree with most everybody, it looks pretty good!
Cubby, when are we having our next blogger meet-up? You'd be ingesting a wide range of high quality nutrients including vitamins, minerals, sugars and 150 mg of protein, all at a piddly 5 - 10 calories.
ReplyDeleteSo... you have no excuse NOT to swallow.
Thanks for the kind comments, everyone! WCS, my answer to your questions became so long that I turned it into my next post. Watch for it!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I'm so glad to be an inspiration! I will certainly watch for it. :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha love that last pic. Brilliant movement indeed. And damn brave. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove
Daniel
